The Diamondback Terrapin is a species of turtle from the forests of North America. It's name originates from the diamond-shaped patterns on its shell. Unlike most land turtles, it is capable of spending large amounts of time in salt water and can even determine if water is fresh or salt. Due to their webbed hind feet, it is an exceptional swimmer.
