The Helmeted Guineafowl is a species of bird from the savannas of Africa. The name comes from the reddish crest on the top of the guineafowl's head, giving the appearance of a helmet. They form massive flocks which are often targets for the predatory Caracal. They are capable of being domesticated for their meat, feathers, and eggs.
