Martin William Kratt (born December 23, 1965) is an American educational nature show host. A grandson of musical-instrument manufacturer William Jacob Kratt Sr., he and his younger brother Chris grew up in Warren Township, New Jersey, and together created the children's television series Kratts' Creatures and Zoboomafoo, as well as Be the Creature, which runs on the National Geographic Channel and Knowledge Network. They are the main characters on the animated TV series Wild Kratts, which airs on PBS Kids. Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Duke University. They also appear as themselves in the Odd Squad episode "Night Shift." They guest starred on the Nature Cat episode Wild Batts as the "bat brothers"

Personal life[]

Martin is married to Laura Wilkinson and has two sons, Gavin and Ronan, both of whom have had roles on Wild Kratts. Gavin Kratt played himself (although unrelated to the Kratt brothers in the show) in many episodes such as "Bass Class," "Happy Turkey Day," "Slider: The Otter," and "Praying Mantis." Ronan Kratt played himself (also canonically unrelated to the Kratts) in the same episodes as Gavin including "The Blue and the Gray" and "The Amazing Creature Race." They were shown working on a bat house during "Bat in the Brownies." Martin and his brother Chris are now living in Ottawa, where they film and animate their TV series Wild Kratts.
